Success, here I come !!

The quest to succeed hasn’t died
With eternal hooks I am tied.
Tears of frustration haven’t dried,
And hope remains as a sullen tide
Aspiring to reach great height
Tomorrow the day will be bright
To start afresh without fright
And to prove my might
With positivity ushering in my mind
And enthusiasm which I bind
Praying the almighty to be kind
And help me sail through my find

I wish you all a good night.

Vinnaithandi vanthuvitaai!! – A review

Heard this title somewhere?? A slight modification to the most successfully running movie of today – Vinnaithandi varuvaaya..!!
The plot revolves around 2 people – Simbu as Karthik and Trisha as Jessie. A typical love story where the emotions shrouding an Indian girl in love is depicted in a suitable manner... Her need to choose between her family and love is all the story is about, but it is said in a very interesting way. The movie shows the exact mindset of a girl in love but afraid of revealing it for the sake of the impact it will in the society and within her family. The guy whose career ambition is to make it big in filmdom, with a deep sense of love and affection is sandwiched between getting his lady love's consent and his career which is at stake if he pays less attention towards it...The best and also the worst part of the movie are the songs which explain the current scenario and also make you feel stuffed at times... The director has definitely worked well in the songs and those picturesque locations were above everything in the movie. Kudos to him and his wonderful team :) The lyrics of the songs go in line with the current picture and make them more relevant to the current situation.. But the songs seem to be repetitive though a pleasure to hear...
I wondered why the climax was not concrete...But anyways had a mild intuition in my heart that it all would have ended well...
A must watch for people in love or for those who feel they are in love...

The kind of women I wish to bow down before...:)

Am not afraid to be portrayed as a self-declared feminist, who wants to put an end to male dominance of any kind. Am inclined towards making this society equally accessible to both the sexes and rule out every possibility of existence of the "dominant sex".
There was an age where women were considered fit to be managing the household work alone. They were not included in the internal discussions of their families nor were they allowed to meet their friends. They did not have freedom of thought, word, or speech. Severe restrictions were imposed on them at every stage of their life. Slowly the societal pressure over women started to ease. Thanks to the role education played in sharpening the minds of people. The economically forward classes of the society understood the necessity of education and the need to impart education to women. Partly because of the British invasion of India??
Well...thats not what I wish to speak about.. Now its about the exceptional women who made a mark in their respective fields ..

Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy
Born in an era when education was not considered to be a woman's cup of tea, Dr. Muthulakshmi scaled remarkable heights by becoming one of the first female doctors of our nation. A recipient of the prestigious Padma Bhushan, she played a poignant role in establishing an hospital for the cancer patients in India. The Cancer Institute located at Adyar, Chennai is a brain child of this great social reformer. Dr. Muthulakshmi was also part of the Tamilnadu legislature. She played an eminent role towards removing the Devadasi system that prevailed in the country and also for raising the minimum age of marriage for women.

Sudha Narayanamurty
Wife of one of the most renowned personality of India, Sudha is indisputably a wonderful person to admire. Born in the Kulkarni family with all the riches one would wish to have , she met Murty a soft spoken guy in Telco. The interlude of how she joined Telco is pretty interesting. Sudha was pursuing her masters in IISc Bangalore. She was the only female doing her masters in computer science in the campus . Sudha happened to see an advertisement from Telco inviting male candidates to join the firm. This disappointed her. She immediately sent a postcard to JRD Tata and to her surprise she got an immediate response with a sponsored trip to Pune for the interview.Sudha for the first woman employee of Telco.
Now she is part of many philanthropic activities and social service in Karnataka.
To be continued......

What if all we wish come true??

Absurd to think about it, right?? No worries if all we think comes true, if everything is positive...The world in itself will be a magic land and all human beings magicians :) All you wish will happen the moment you wish for it.. Wow...the thought itself is so appealing...But its far beyond reality...
Sometimes I wonder what makes us happy? Something we keep expecting or something which happens all of a sudden... I personally go with the latter...Things should happen as and when they are destined to happen, or else the joy they bring in lives for a lesser duration...

Pranayama

Just a sudden spurge in me ??...No...I have always wanted to know the nuances of Pranayama, but never found time for the same...Atlast here are a few things I wish to share about the art of breathing..

We breathe several times a day and each time we breathe we inhale oxygen which energizes our blood and thereby our mind. Here are a few basic steps of breathing exercise.
1. Sit up straight. Exhale.
2. Inhale and, at the same time, relax the belly muscles. Feel as though the belly is filling with air.
3. After filling the belly, keep inhaling. Fill up the middle of your chest. Feel your chest and rib cage expand.
4. Hold the breath in for a moment, then begin to exhale as slowly as possible.
5. As the air is slowly let out, relax your chest and rib cage. Begin to pull your belly in to force out the remaining breath.
6. Close your eyes, and concentrate on your breathing.
7. Relax your face and mind.
8. Let everything go.
9. Practice about 5 minutes.

Paa - an unfurled story!!

'Cinematic' is the common word I hear often as friends discuss about "Paa"..but, this film has a very broad perspective which most of us have realized. The movie is full of life and arouses your keenness till the very end.

The movie is ushering with positives..A few that moved me..
  • There are plenty of instances which make you emote and understand the mental setup of a 12-year old victim of Progeria. Apart from the sullen feel you get, there is lot more to learn from "The gynecologist" of the movie - Vidya Balan. She essayed a wonderful role as mother of Auro...A bundle of boldness with indigenous subtle feelings. Her bold portrayal made me wonder if such strong-willed women still exist?? Vidya has done a neat job and is definitely an inspiration for mothers with differently-abled children..She has invariably taught us to fight against the odds with a soothing smile..Although she gained this level of confidence only because of her onscreen doting mom, who inspired the gynec to fight all odds.. Nobody can forget the marvelous performance of Arundathi Nag as "Bum"..
  • Secondly, the "young politician" played by Abhishek Bachan, committed to make the nation corruption-free...The intention of the politician remains undeterred unlike real-life politicians who would have done everything possible to keep the media and people ignorant about his 'progenic' child...Good performance Amol..But this character needs to have shown some more emotion towards his brilliant wife..After all, the single mother must've handled so much of societal and emotional pressure to bring up her child
  • Am surely not doing justice to this blog if I do not appreciate the child prodigy of the year Auro alias Amitabh Bachan...A significant performance by the Shenshah of bollywood...The movie gets life maily from this character..An intelligent, adamant, childish boy of 12 with a physical appearance of 80..Bravado!!! Auro also scores 100 on maturity by keeping up the word he gives his mother..(पिछ्ली से पिछ्ली से पिछ्ली mistake).. He portrays a deep sense of understanding in forgiving his classmate who once made him feel low and relates the same by asking his mother to forgive his dad..Auro portrays multiple characteristics without giving us a hint that a 60-year old is actually playing a 12-year old boy..
  • The classmates of Auro have also put in great efforts and they are very apt ...Especially Vishnu has shown the frustration of a typical school going kid uninterested towards studies...(दो मर्द एक ही घर में नहीं रह सकथे)...And the resemblances of Vishnu and his dad which Auro uses to compare himself with his paa is really inspiring..Kudos to the director..
The entire movie has only necessary elements used to the fullest of their potential, except for Paresh Rawal, the ex-politician dad of Amol, keen towards giving a clean image of his son, who had just begun a political career...A person with typical politician mindset, turning a new leaf towards the end for the sake of his son and trying a bit of unessential comedy..(औरो मतलब औरोबिन्धो??)..
But the feminist inside me strongly says that the title of the movie should have been "Maa", after all its the mother who has taken pains to give life to her child, fighting all odds..:)

Paa is definitely an entertaining and watchable movie and it leaves you with sweet memoirs of the naughty young boy..
