Violence -A threat to fair elections??

The nation is facing Elections 2009...The phaseII polls in almost 12 states of the country was scheduled today..Thousands of security personnel were deployed at each of these states by the election commission to hold free and fair elections...At sensitive areas like Assam,Bihar,Manipur and Jharkand STF was also put on charge...In Manipur, the maoists had warned the civilians to boycott the vote...But people came in large numbers to franchise their right despite the tense situation...But it is very unfortunate that the maoists have indeed stood up to their word....Really pitiable...Well...the ultimate victory is in the number of people who came to cast their right despite threat to their life.Manipur recorded a 60% polling...Indeed remarkable!!

Yup, tats what its all about the largest democracy in the world, but yeah,I am much with fair & peaceful elections ,but it strikes me how Maoist have legible issue on their hands, time after time their people have been neglected and that's the reason they are fired up to show who they are in times of election.so i hope at least after this election the upcoming govt would look into their demands. Any way good beginning to ur blog page. All the best...
